Comme des Garcons - Creative Design Project

A few bits and pieces from my most recent project at uni. We were given the brief of designing an Autumn/Winter 10/11 collection for a particular designer. My brilliant group got given Comme des Garcons. With a massive thanks to Lisa Morley and Sarah Harrison.

A Change of Mime

A few pictures from a short film that I recently worked on directed by Simon Glass, a Leeds University graduate. My role as costume designer proved to be exciting, interesting, stressful and very rewarding. The film was later taken to Cannes where Simon has had previous success in the short film category.

Knightsbridge of the North

Leeds...A northern city which most people would associate with Yorkshire, a semi-average football team and an abundance of students...However I am on a mission to prove that this charming city deserves its title of 'Knightsbridge of the North', starting with these two stylish lovelies that I snapped whilst holding modeling auditions for the Leeds University RAG fashion show. I love the way Laura (top) has styled her outfit especially the bracelet length sleeves with the leather gloves. Sarah (below) was teaching choreography to potential models and after five hours still managed to look fabulous... her (real..eek!!!!!) fur coat looked amazing with just a simple pair of leggings and boots.

Here Goes

In the haze which is student life a comment by one of my lecturers has stuck out and played on my mind for a number of weeks.....'there is nothing as un-inspirational as a white page', which i feel has certainly applied when creating this blog. Night after night have i worried about the name (has to make an impression, cool, quirky not cheesy), the type face (will someone physco-analyse me if i use arial?) the layout, the content (will anyone be interested?), the list is endless, all whilst staring at a blank screen. So tonight I have decided to make that leap, jump into the unknown and share with you my thoughts, inspirations and some of my work....
